How To Dress For Your First Chiropractor Appointment

Yoga

We know that when it comes to making your first chiropractic appointment, you will take any opening to get some pain relief. That often means you book yourself an appointment before work, during your lunch break, or right after work. While you may have to look professional for your job, a suit and tie or a dress won’t provide you much flexibility at your chiropractic visit.

When you are preparing for your first appointment, you will usually find that there is no tailored “dress code”. The Next Level Wellness Team recommends that you arrive in loose-fitting, comfortable clothing, so your doctor can easily examine you.

If your appointment involves more movement, such as standing exercises, then it is suggested you wear workout clothes so your doctor can examine your spine while you do physical activities.

During your initial visit, we will use A.R.T therapy and we will also want you to do range of motion movements and exercises to locate the pain, and develop treatment plans that alleviate the pain.

We could ask you to touch your toes, raise your knees, or jog in place. If you have shoulder, wrist, or elbow pain, we will certainly have you extend your arms against the wall, or do easy exercises with a tennis ball.

You may not be very comfortable because of an injury, but we want you to dress comfortably so we can treat you! Don’t forget to pack extra clothes for your visit to our Irvine chiropractic office!
