Rotation Exercise to Prevent Neck Pains

The pain or aching of the neck is one of the major physical problems and discomforts for women and men of all ages. The physical disorder of sodalities is very common in females at older ages as well as middle-aged people. These physical problems related to necks can be prevented by effective neck exercises.

The neck needs exercise to keep it in a normal and healthy condition. Rotation exercises of the neck keep neck muscles strong and flexible. A person can sit or stand still and rotate their neck from left to right and vice versa. Each stretch should be held for ten to thirty seconds, with consistent breathing.

Shoulder Circle Exercise

The shoulder circle exercise is another great exercise to prevent and help with neck pain.

To do this exercise, stand still and raise the shoulders up and move them in a circular motion in both the directions with normal breathing which helps the trapezius muscles that link your shoulder to your neck.

At the same time, moving your neck to the side slowly stretches additional neck muscles, which can relieve further neck pains. The exercise can be continued from fifteen to twenty minutes and then a 5 minute resting time is required to cool down.

The exercise can be resumed again after the cooling down period. People of any age can practice this exercise, including people above 60 years of age.

Head Lift Exercise

Head lifts and sit-ups are effective exercises to prevent neck pains and build neck muscle.

You should lie on your back with your knees bent and feet on the floor. The head should be lifted and lowered while keeping the shoulders totally flat on the surface of the floor. Next, move to one of your sides, either right or left, and lift your head towards the ceiling.

Similar movement should be repeated on the other side of the body, while lying on the stomach. All these movements should be repeated uninterruptedly for ten minutes with normal breathing.

The whole exercise should be preferable practiced on a soft exercise mat, in order to avoid pain and injuries and exercise comfortably. The exercise is suitable for young and middle aged men and women.

Resistance Exercise to Prevent Neck Pain

This exercise should be practiced in a sitting posture on a chair.

Place your right hand against your head above your ear and push your hand against your head while resisting the movement with your neck. Similar movements should be done with the left hand on the other side.
Sit straight on the chain while doing this exercise and keep your back as straight as possible while breathing normally and consistently. The exercise is very effective in relieving pain as well as preventing many the orthopedic disorders related to neck in a quite short period of time.

All the neck pain exercises mentioned above are very simple and free-hand exercises.
They do not require any specialized machines or equipment. Anyone can practice these exercises without any prior expert knowledge. However, people can take some advice from any expert in exercise and physical training field in order to practice these exercises accurately.
